Sereph had said no words as they traveled until they hit the city. "Why..." The word hissed from her mouth. if the fury he felt were behind it he might actually fear her, but it simply came out flat.

"The book, you've probably had it all along." He said in response. "I wouldn't make you go here if it wasn't necessary, trust me." He grabbed her hand and held it on the way there, hoping he could comfort her a little bit.

"If you say so. I think i would have known if i had the ancient artifact i am seeking. You hear how that sounds?" She asked as she came upon a pair of golden gates and VANHALE scrolled across in fancy letters. "We are about to enter enemy territory where if we make one wrong move we are dead. Know this." She entered the gates and held them open for him.

He felt bad because Sereph was acting so distant again. He felt her sadness and anxiety to go back to this place while dealing with his own feelings. "I never make a wrong move." He said passing through the gates. It's a good thing he stopped to get a new shirt, these people were living in one hell of a mansion. He looked around pretty amazed by it.

They made it to the front doors and then She pushed one open. "Come on. Don't lag." She said as she walked through the foyer which was decorated from ceiling to floor in crystal lighting and gold pieces, artifacts inlaid with jewels and fancy designs. "Don't touch anything." She whispered as she headed for the grand stair case.

"Fine." He whispered in response. "We should go where you spent most of your time, the book should probably be there." He whispered not knowing why they were even whispering. He kept lookign around for any sign of Sereph's parents because he would ratehr not run into them.

"It's best not to draw attention to ourselves." She led him up the stairs and felt her way along the wall until she entered a room decorated fancy. Sereph paused. "i hate this place."

"I know you do." He said before entering the room. He looked around quickly but didn't note anything that could be it. "Is there anything you were paticularly fond of? It seems that would most likely be it. According to the intel we gathered." He looked at her, waiting for a response.

"This isn't my room." She told him flatly. "It's maggie's room." She pointed to the closet door and then walked over to it. She shoved all the gowns aside and gropped the back wall until she heard the click. Then the wall moved back to reveal a long neglected rickety wooden staircase. It was long and winding and Ike knew that somewhere they had pasted ground level. They hit a kind of crawl space at the bottom. Not well lit. Just enough vent for air, and all it had in it was a few dirty dusty books, some rags and a pile of hay in the corner. "This is my room, my jail, my shame." She said flatly. Ike recognized the dim lit room from the visions in his head. The begging crying beaten child has his beloved. How many scars did she have under her dress? Scars he could not see, Scars on her very soul.

Ike had to remained ducked in this small 'room'. He couldn't believe her parents left her here, the visions started to come alive in his head and he was frozen by fear and misery for a few seconds before regaining his thoughts. "I want to hug you right now, but I guess it's better if I don't." Ike said. He went towards the books and searched through the pages trying to find the book they had been searching for. It should be here, he thought over and over.

"why is it better if you dont?" She turned to him. "Because now you can see my shame? the ugly duck born to the family of swans? They locked me in here. his me away. do you pity me? Do you see me for what i am or for what they paint me to be...? I was raised to believe without my eyes i was nothing. After all, how could i be a good wife if i could not see? Not cook, not see my husband to make children and then if by chance that had succeeded to see those children to be able to care for them? Or worse would they also be inflicted as i was...? They told me these horrible things. This was my life. Do you wish to comfort me or do you simply feel sorry for me...?" She touched the walls of her prison.

"I am not saying any of those things." He spoke getting a bit pissed off. "Who the heck do you think I am?" He asked her, his voice sounded irritated. "I want to comfort you, I want to hug you and say I would never let it happen to you again. I want to say you will never have to go through anything like this again! But right now if I touch you the feelings in your heart might jump back to you again." He sighed after his rant, and went through all the books atleast 3 times but couldn't find it. "Shit .... it's not here ..... damn it." He got back up from his knees. "Sereph let's get out of here now." Ike realized they had gotten here quicker than he could, no one else would even bother to come here. No one else would know where to look.

"I knew you were not saying any of those things." She said. "However those are the inner workings of the mind that they created. Wondering and being paranoid. I suppose i have not quite cured myself yet. Hopefully you can be the cure for the illness they have inflicted upon me. And just for the record..." She crossed in front of him and pushed him against the wall using her whole body and weight. "You cannot keep my heart from me." She whispered to him. Her heart started to pound in his chest he knew she wanted to kiss him, but for some reason this time she refused to give in. Instead she stayed there unwavering and then slowly she backed away from him.

Ike blushed slightly, which he normally never did. The two hearts were going rampant in his chest. He stared into Sereph's eyes but then she slowly backed away. 'That's right, you idiot.' He thought to himself. He told himself she could not feel her emotions and that's why she backed away. While lost in thoughts about what just happened Ike heard a slamming noise onto the stairwell. "Shit!" Ike said a bit too loud. "Sereph, I don't have a good feeling about this. He made his way out of the cramped space as fast as he could, grabbing her hand when he ran past her.
