"Save the big talk for later, kid. She was originally our target. We could have easily outnumbered you and killed you both. I do have a sense of honor believe it or not, but business is business." Max paused and continued. "How about a trade then? Usually, I don't do these kinds of things, but opportunities like these just don't open up often do they?" Max smirked slyly. "I'm no idiot. I know who she is. With her out of the picture, your little search would be never-ending. You give me something I need and you'll never hear from us again. Oh, and she'll live." Max gripped the scythe tighter and leaned the blade closer to Sereph's throat. "And don't try to be a hero. I won't hesitate."

Ike brought his sword up and let the blade lean on his shoulder. "Well that entirely depends on what it is you want, now doesn't it?" Ike didn't want to come over as if he was panicking, but he was. 'Sorry Sereph,' He thought trying to reach her. 'Of course you can get my cloak and don't worry I'll get you out of here, somehow.'

"I have nothing of value he could want. I do not understand this situation." She told him in his mind. "Why am I a target? What is it that made me their victim?" She racked her brain but no answer would come. Sereph was unaware of the power she held uncorrupted. She was the keeper and had no clue about any of it. Whoever had kept it from her had planted enough clues though. For her to want to find it. "I can feel the blade." She said and her heart was pounding like mad out of fear.

'I'll tell you why he's after you later, for now just try to keep calm.' He transmitted to Seeph. 'I know you must be frightened but like I said, I will get you out of this.' Ike kept his eyes locked on Max as they were having this conversation.

"I could sit here all day and give you a history lesson, but we are short on time. Long story short, I need you to locate and bring me a certain rock. Flat, gray and glowing. Some weird scribbles on both sides, you can't miss it. You may or may not heard of what it is, but that is not important. What is important is that you bring it here to me and hand it to me or else you can probably guess what will happen to your little girlfriend here." Max signaled over at Elroy who was blocking the door, who then moved over to allow Ike to leave. "This magical rock should be located back in Evaria. Try the museum. Look around. You're a big kid, figure it out, but whatever you do. Do it alone. Don't let anyone know you are doing this. You are simply exploring. Got it? If I so as much as see anyone else with you.." Max kicked over a nearby chair and watched it break. "Don't keep me waiting. I'm impatient. Go on."

"Fine, I know what you mean. But you better not touch her, you'll regret it" He sheathed his sword and went out through the door. He made his way to the castle and without anyone noticing he got the stone tablet and some other clothes. It took him a few days before he returned. He held the tablet in his hands as he approached the mansion.

At the front of the mansion stood Max with his captive looking the same as Ike had last seen her. Elroy was located on top of the mansion, sitting down on the roof overlooking the deal. Nero had been 'smoking' nearby the gates, and allowed Ike to enter. A new face was here as well. Maggie. She had been next to Max, making sure Sereph was tied, a smirk on her face appeared once Ike entered. Everything was secured. "Not a chatty one is she, Ike? Don't worry, I didn't do anything that would cause you to worry. She's been a nice and quiet hostage. To be honest, she just sat there. No word. Nothing. Max let out a bored sigh. "Anyways pip-squeak. Seeing as you are here, i'm guessing you have the stone? Not bad, I didn't think you would actually get it. Now hand it over before my patience runs out." Max raised his hand towards Ike, waiting for him to place the stone on his hand.

Ike handed Max the stone tablet. "Release Sereph and I'll be off." Ike glanced over at Sereph to make sure she didn't have any injuries that weren't there before he left.

Sereph sensed a strange power radiating from one of the men. Strange but familiar. It was almost calling to her. She felt a strange sensation and took a step forward raising her hand. She acted as if she were entranced by the power. She spoke first in a different language and then they could hear her. "Wrongful holders! Return to the keeper that which is rightfully hers by right!" The book appeared in her hand small fancy diary looking thing. It floated there in midair infront of the tranced sereph. She seemed almost unaware of what she was saying. "Keeper's book." She mutteres over and over.

"I told you to not do anything funny!" Max quickly closed in on Ike and power kicked him in his chest, sending him back a few feet away from him. Max was unsure what to do. The book had began to protrude a magical force. He was in a desperate situation, but he knew none of the others would make it in time. He decided to take measures into his own hands, even after being told not to. He grabbed onto the book trying to get it back, pulling hard, forgetting how much strength he was using and in the midst of it all, he tore the book in half! He fell backwards from the pulling and the other half fell towards Sereph, while he kept the other in his hand.

The half of the book she held instantly disappeared. Sereph fell like a rag doll to the ground and for one second her heart skipped a beat making ike nervous. Her heart beat evenly after the falter. He imagined it was simply from falling. He had to get them out of there. They finally had at least a piece of their prize.

'Shit Sereph.' Ike dashed and catched her before she hit the ground. He knew he couldn't fight, so there was only one option, run with his tail between his legs. Eventhough it hurt him to run from a fight, he had to. He knew he couldn't outrun Max with his normal speed, he had to call upon his new power. Ike closed his eye for just as second and focused his thoughts on his legs. He saw the dark cloud move to it and he felt him and Sereph became lighter. He dashed off with great speed and vanished before they could even react.
