Aslyn was right, this is how they all had learned. But when it came to Sereph he didn't seem to be able to do it. "Aslyn, wait." He said loud enough for Aslyn to hear before she headed out the door. "I'm sorry, you're right." He said picking Sereph up from the ground and bringing her over to the chair by the door. "You're right, this is how we learn. I'm sorry for overreacting but freakin' somehow when it's about Sereph I lose my shit way too quick." Ike put Sereph down on the chair, making sure she didn't fall over. "Could you please continue teaching her? You could teach her better how to use her small frame." He was a bit embarrassed giving all these compliments and saying sorry, but he realized he was wrong so he had to.

"I know." She said. "I know its just you care. Heres what you have to think about though is that you can't go easy on her just cuz she is who she is. That's not how it works! No opponent evil at least will take sympathy for her in fact they will take major advantage of her weakness. Do you want them to take her away again? I dont think you went that. Im small she's small I can show her things but I am not you dude I'm not going to hold her hand." Aslyn told him. "Pull it together. You can't spend all your time on her because you will forget to watch your own back. Let her try to handle herself." Aslyn told him. "Take her to her bed. She's done. Bring her back tomorrow."
(Fast forward post return to room and then fast to next day.)

Ike brought Sereph back to their room and laid her down on the bed. He thought for a moment about what he should do. It was still early and it was nowhere near his usual sleeping time. He decided to go to the bar in town and went there for the rest of the night. He returned roaring drunk and laid face down on the bed falling sleep.
The next morning Ike entered the room looking like a zombie. He was rubbing his eyes as he walked in, he was as hungover as a person possibly could be. He looked around to see if Aslyn had already arrived.

"Oh, that's a lovely first sight..." Aslyn stood up from her seat. Ike wandered in with sereph's assistance. She looked slightly irritated but mostly concerned. "Fool..." She muttered. "I can't believe you went and got hammered... worse, without me." She Said slightly hurt. "Today is the day im going to kick your butt." Aslyn rolled her eyes at sereph. "You couldn't kick your way out of a paper bag miss, and this one here is completely hung over, so i dont think it counts." Aslyn said amused. "You, go over there and suck down some water, i cant have you like this during her test. She needs to fight someone who compares to a sober real opponent. Not a hungover dummy." She said to ike. Sereph sat him down at the water station and poured some cold water over his head. "You're awake aren't you?" Sereph asked her head tilted sideways her blue eyes concerned.

He glared at her but couldn't really be mad since she was concerned about him. "Well if I wasn't awake yet I sure as hell am now." He smiled just slightly. He poured himself some water and chugged it down. "Give me an hour and I'll be all better." He said, though his face told her otherwise. "And don't blame me for getting drunk. I ran into some guys I know back from the rattlers and we spent a long time catching up." He chuckled a bit then got himself another glass of water.

She crossed her arms reprovingly. "I am not mad. I am disappointed because i didn't get to go too... i've never been there before. I also don't know anyone you know." She looked away from him. "It doesn't matter... i'm not going to waste my time on it. I've got practice so i can not pass out this time and actually leave a mark..." She paused looking fearful for a moment. "Maybe..." she finished before hurrying over to Aslyn. "You, jolly, watch for the time being, we need some tips and crit anyway." She shrugged. "You, warm ups, and dummy drills!" Sereph started stretching. She noticed him watching her and began to emphasize each warm up while shooting him playful looks. "I am not blind! Girly this is training and you are not a cheerleader! Focus or you will have to fight me!" Sereph suddenly lost all the color in her face and picked up the pace with terror in her eyes.

Ike smiled slyly everytime Sereph overdid her warm ups. He chuckled when Aslyn yelled at her. It made him wonder, could he fight Aslyn? He never fought her before so he didn't know if he would win. He watched Sereph do her warm ups while going for frequent refills of water.

Sereph continued with doing her dummy drills, simple kicks and punches to limber out her body and make it easier to move certain ways. After a couple hours of nothing but drills Aslyn gave her lessons on momentum to which sereph seemed to completely understand. "Well, your not as much of an airhead as other nobles, thats for sure." Aslyn admitted slightly shocked when sereph used the lessons in practice and broke the dummy in half but then sighed hopelessly when sereph tripped over and fell on the landing.. "What do you think? She asked Ike.

Ike had been watching and analyzing Sereph as she was training. He had finally recovered from his hangover. He leaned forward with his elbows on his knees, holding his glass of water. He thought for a second before responding. "Her form while doing punches is great, better than I had thought she would do." He paused for a second. "But her stance while doing kicks is pretty bad, she doesn't balance correctly on her standing leg. Sure the kicks are more powerful but as you saw just now, when an enemy dodges she will fall over, which is a no no." He took a sip of his water after he had finished his speech.

"I think the falling is a temporary thing..." Aslyn looked back at her calculatingly. "She doesnt know how to fall, or land. Maybe because she always had the psychic thing. But combining them would be stronger but That will cripple her in a way in case they have a way to take the psychic away, then she will have no chance at all because she doesnt know how to use her body that way. Her reflexes are terrible." Sereph's face fell. She thought she was doing so good until the end. "Kiddo we're not makin fun of you. We are listing the problems so we can figure out what you need to do to fix them. Fighting could mean life or death. Learning is hard, and you are lucky to have the chance for us to show you first. We wern't that lucky and there were times we almost died but instead we learned on our own. It will come to you, with lots of hard work. Go do your drills, i'm going to go talk to him about how we should continue." Aslyn walked away. "She's doomed" Aslyn said mockingly taking off an invisible hat and putting it to her chest like she was mourning a dead person. She then lifted her head. "We cant go on really until she learns to catch herself. How do you think we should go about doing that...?" She asked him. "Shes not like me, she doesnt have animal in her... and she doesnt have the muscle like you." She said thoughtfully. Aslyn was wrong. Sereph had animal in her. There just had to be a way for her to use the instinct all humans were born with. Everything he had seen led him to believe she was kind of like a cat. Graceful fluid. How could they access that instinct?

"I have a hunch, I'll test it in a bit." He said after pondering for a moment. "She's more graceful than us so I think she can see the flow of the punch, but she doesn't know how to react so she freezes up." He remembered their fight from yesterday, her reflexes weren't too bad not battle ready but she had reacted pretty quickly to the kick. "Tell me how did you create your fighting style? Intuitiohn and gut feeling am I right?" He asked Aslyn out of the blue. "I think we've been busy trying to drill her with the basic, but my style looks nothing like the basics and neither does yours. We have to get her to use her instincts, combined with the things we teached her. You can't really teach someone to catch himself, you can prepare someone for it but in the end that person will go flat on his face anyway."

"So what do you think we should do? Have her face you going easy so we can have her try to feel her way in the thick of it? She's got to feel the fire." Aslyn said thoughtfully as she watched sereph continue her drills.

"Leave it to me." He put his glass to the side of him and got up. He walked over to Sereph, he was obviously planning something. "Sereph?" He asked as he was behind her, he waited for her to turn around then he faked a punch at her face. He stopped his punch just before hitting her.

Sereph Turned and froze. "Eek!" She squeaked. When it stopped inches from her face her eyes became angry. "What was that for!?" She demanded to know. "You almost scared me to death..." She looked away. Aslyn leaned against the banister looking curiously.

"Good, you didn't close your eyes." He pulled his arm back and analyzed her posture. "So I guess it's not going to be that hard to train you. Normally it's the hardest for people to follow the fist as it comes in." He stated and he crossed his arms. "We're going to spar. I want you to remember everything you've learned and use it. But you don't have to stick to it, do as you naturally would but don't freeze up. You got that?"
